We are pleased to invite you to the 8th “Advanced surgical techniques in pelvic-reconstruction: hands-on course” on 21 & 22 September 2026, hosted in Leiden, the Netherlands. This highly specialized course is organised by the Department of Orthopaedic Oncology of the Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC) in close cooperation with an outstanding international faculty of leading experts in pelvic tumour surgery, complex reconstructions and computer-assisted navigation.
Pelvic tumour surgery remains one of the most demanding areas in orthopaedic oncology. This two-day intensive programme provides an in-depth update on modern resection techniques and advanced reconstructive strategies following pelvic tumour surgery. The course combines state-of-the-art lectures, evidence-based updates in orthopaedic oncology, virtual reality imaging and preoperative planning, workshops including hands-on pelvic navigation sessions (Brainlab) and a comprehensive hands-on cadaver laboratory. Participants will gain practical and strategic insights into different types of pelvic resections; biological and endoprosthetic reconstruction techniques; reconstruction with and without computer-assisted navigation; surgical planning and intraoperative execution; prevention, recognition and management of complications.
